IQ is a ratio based on scope
of psychometric tests which measures mental capacity over energy exerted in
learning.
Intelligence Quotient may be
hereditary but greatly influenced by:
1. Exposure to toxic substances right
from womb—lead, alcohol, aspirin, antibiotics
2. Long term malnutrition
3. Measure of environmental stimulation
exposure to colors, shapes, constant chatting even at pre-speaking stage,
legos, toys, games at infancy and toddler stages.
4. Good nutrition which should include
lots of fruits and vegetables, fish, omega 3 rich plants like flaxseed and
olive oil
5. Stress reduced lifestyles like
minimal family violence, a sense of security and safety, practical display of
love and warmth.
6. Maximizing brain exercises like
culture of reading and writing, solving math and aptitude test mostly with the
brain rather than with calculators and computers, trying to do many common
things differently like occasionally using left hand if right handed, playing
scrabble and maze/puzzle games etc.
7. Appropriate neck and shoulder
exercises to push more blood into brain
8.imbibing
emotional literacy skills such knowing self and building on ones strengths,
developing abilities to motivate oneself, and persist in
the face of frustration; to control impulse and delay gratification; to
regulate one’s moods and keep distress from swamping the ability to think, to
empathize and to hope. This best done at the plateau stage of brain development
before puberty when the imbibed characters are sorted and retained while the
unuseful brain nerves are pruned out.
