EPISODE 39 - WHAT ABOUT THE GAZELLES

The gazelle is a young antelope appreciated for its beauty and grace. Arabic poetry involves comparing the gazelle with the beloved and Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived used it sumptuously his love song trying to depict the qualities that should characterize any authentic love relationship, more so, the love between us and the creator.
“Let me come in my darling,
Come…my darling, come,
Come to me, my lover like a gazelle,
Like a young stag on the mountains where spices grow,
Catch the foxes, the little foxes,
Before they ruin our vineyard in bloom”.
As a young boy or girl blossoming out in puberty, you will be admired and admire your mates and there will be tendency to date. That is okay, but the word of wisdom says “come to me like a gazelle, like a young stag on the mountains where spices grow. A gazelle has twin hoofs with which he defends himself (Knowledge and Determination), tough leathery skin to be able to withstand harsh mountainous terrain (strength of character to withstand peer pressure), and then it is young and graceful (child-like in innocence and simplicity). If you school yourself in these attributes, even the foxes would respect you.
