EPISODE 40 - SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST: PREDISPOSING FACTORS & LIFESTYLE CGS

Family history,
Smoking:  PLAQUE BUILD UP
High b.p: increased speed of blood with subs can easily block arteries
High bad cholesterol: LDL especially type B is more implicated in blockage
Obesity: obese people have too much fat, cannot exercise and higher risk
Diabetes: high sugar in the blood combines with fat to form blockades for vessels
Sedentary lifestyle: no exercise, no flexibility for blood vessels and detoxification for lymph (blood) system.
High alcohol intake: alcohol produces metabolites (acetaldehyde) which are toxic to the brain and blood and increases the chance of vessel blockage
Previous heart attack: when a system is weakened it gets more vulnerable
Age and gender: tendency increases with age and men have 3x for tendency because women have their oestrogen protection
Cocaine and amphetamine: narrows blood vessels and so increases chance of blockade
Nutritional imbalance: when there is decrease in potassium and magnesium in the diet leading to irregular and fast heart beat
Four warning signs of a heart attack
1.      Pain  that comes in the chest that comes  and goes and later returns with greater intensity
2.       Feeling of easy windiness
3.      High uncontrolled blood pressure
4.      High LDL( especially type B LDL)
